A complete approach to your health and wellness involves a collaborative team of providers — including your regular primary care provider (PCP) — in addition to working with Stephanie Martinez, NP.
You are required to maintain an established relationship with a PCP and agree to complete all routine preventive and annual health screenings (for example: colonoscopy, mammogram, Pap smear, and other age-appropriate exams).
While functional medicine provides an additional layer of insight and support, it is not a substitute for conventional medical care when acute, urgent, or serious conditions arise.
In the event of an emergency or an urgent health concern, please contact your local urgent care or emergency department for immediate evaluation.
Each person’s path to better health is unique, and progress naturally varies from patient to patient. Achieving meaningful, lasting results takes time as your body adjusts to new routines and begins to heal from within.
Most patients begin to notice positive changes within the first four to six weeks, though deeper improvements continue to develop over time.
According to the Institute for Functional Medicine, functional medicine is “an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness.”
This approach looks beyond symptoms to identify and treat the root causes of imbalance. By addressing your health from multiple angles—nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and genetics—we aim to create lasting, meaningful improvements in your overall well-being.
Conventional medicine often takes a reactive approach—treating symptoms as they appear. Functional medicine, on the other hand, is proactive. It seeks to uncover and correct the root causes behind those symptoms, providing lasting relief and improving overall health. Rather than masking issues or managing symptoms that may signal deeper imbalances, functional medicine works to restore balance and prevent future problems.
Hormones play a vital role in overall health, influencing everything from mood and energy to metabolism and long-term disease risk.
Imbalances can develop for many reasons and often affect both physical and emotional well-being. As we age, hormone levels naturally decline, which can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, hot flashes, and changes in sexual function.
By restoring hormonal balance, we can address the root causes of these symptoms, help reduce the risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease, and help you feel more vibrant, confident, and in control of your health.
In recent years, research has shown how deeply the gut is connected to nearly every system in the body. This complex ecosystem—known as the gut microbiome—is made up of trillions of bacteria that influence digestion, metabolism, immunity, and even brain function.
Factors such as diet, stress, medications, and hormonal changes (including pregnancy) can disrupt this delicate balance, affecting mood, cognition, pain, and overall well-being. The gut also produces key neurotransmitters like serotonin and supports up to 90% of the immune system’s activity.
When imbalances occur, they can influence your health from the inside out—making gut restoration and support a vital part of achieving lasting wellness.
Bioidentical hormones have the same chemical structure as the hormones naturally produced by your body. This allows them to mimic normal hormone function more precisely than most conventional or synthetic options, which are often derived from sources like the urine of pregnant horses or made from non-identical compounds.
Bioidentical hormones are available in several forms—such as creams, patches, pills, and sublingual drops or troches. They can be custom-compounded by a pharmacist to match your specific needs or prescribed as FDA-approved formulations through a conventional pharmacy, sometimes covered by insurance.
At this time, Prime Optimal Health does not prescribe controlled substances such as testosterone or phentermine.
At Prime Optimal Health, we offer a range of medical and wellness services designed to help you feel your best from the inside out. Our specialties include hormone optimization, functional medicine, weight management programs, and peptide therapies—all tailored to your unique health goals.

Hormone optimization therapy focuses on evaluating and restoring your hormone levels to support balance, vitality, and long-term wellness.
When hormones are out of balance, it can affect energy, mood, metabolism, sleep, and overall quality of life. By bringing your hormones back into an optimal range, we aim to improve how your body functions day to day — helping you feel more vibrant, focused, and in control of your health.
